Abstract. I will present an overview of my research on what motivates more climate-friendly behaviors in daily life, with a particular focus on the role of social norms for such behaviors. Further, I will be discussing how, given individuals are enough motivated, change towards more climate-friendly behaviors could be made easier, by providing simple rules of thumb that reflect when and how various behaviors affect climate.
