AbstractLearning about learning may sound humdrum, but one very different approach to the subject, based on recent findings from neuroscience, has become the basis for the world’s most popular massive open online course, with over 1.8 million students.  Building on Herb Simon’s seminal work involving chunking, and the differing perspectives rooted in the default mode network and “task positive” networks, Dr. Barbara Oakley walks us through practical insights on effective learning.  Whether you are an advanced researcher in physics or a graduate student in anthropology, you will find much of value to aid you in your work.
