Graduates of SFI’s 2010 Global Sustainability Summer School have published opinion letters in a number of news outlets.

During the two-week course in Santa Fe, students were encouraged to incorporate their own thoughts and concepts from the course into opinion letters. Following the course, many sought to publish their letters in publications of their choosing.

Here are the letters published to date. Opinions expressed in the letters are those of the authors and not of the Santa Fe Institute.

Eli Lazarus in the Portland Press Herald (Maine) on the true costs of developing and building shorefront properties.

Amanda James in the Burlington Free Press (Vermont) on renewable energy and the long-term viability of the Vermont Yankee nuclear power facility.

Michael Dorsey in Carbon Market Europe about the urgent need for oversight of carbon markets (subscription required).
