
Michael J. North is a Research Software Engineer in Argonne National Laboratory's Decision and Information Sciences Division Complex Adaptive Systems Section. He has eight years of experience developing advanced software applications for various branches of the federal government. Mr. North specializes in the application of innovative computer technologies such as agent-based modeling, web-based computing and scientific visualization to problems of national and global significance. Mr. North's cutting-edge work was featured in Computerworld Magazine's Future Watch column (August 14, 2000) and has won the SwarmFest Best Presentation award (2000). A graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology, Mr. North holds a total of nine earned college degrees spanning Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering Science, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Business Administration including an MS in Computer Science and a BS in Computer Science.
