Jenann Ismael

William H. Miller III Professor of Philosophy, Johns Hopkins University; Science Board




I am the William H. Miller III Professor of Philosophy at Johns Hopkins University.  Previously I was Professor of Philosophy at Columbia University and affiliate of the Zuckerman Institute.  I have also taught at Stanford University (1996-98) and the University of Arizona (1998-2018).

My areas of specialization are Philosophy of Physics; Metaphysics; Philosophy of Science; Cognitive Science; and the Philosophy of Mind. Throughout this website you can access my new, forthcoming, and published papers and books. My CV is also available. Inquiries regarding my work are welcome.
