Hajime Shimao

Program Postdoctoral Fellow

Hajime’s primary research interests include Industrial Organization, Econometrics and Machine Learning. His current research agenda addresses structural econometric modeling using machine learning techniques and its application in microeconomics. He will play a key role in a project with David Wolpert which will use modern information theory and numerical optimization techniques to analyze social organizations, ranging from modern firms to military organizations to complex chiefdoms to primary states.

Hajime Shimao recently received his Ph.D. in Economics from Purdue University.
