Program Manager, Adaptation, Aging and the Arrow of Time

Amy P. Chen is a Taiwanese-American and an experimental geophysicist. She received her Ph.D. from Macquarie University (Australia), M.S. & B.S. from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and was a Fulbrighter in Munich, Germany. She studied microbes that biosynthesize magnetic iron oxide & iron sulfide nanoparticles in stratified estuaries as well as in ~56 million years old sediments deposited during an abrupt climate change event (Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum). Prior to joining SFI, Amy was the Associate Director in University of New Mexico Center for Teaching Excellence, and a Presidential Management STEM Fellow at the NSF Division of Earth Sciences and NASA HQ Earth Science Division.
