Wendy Carlin

SFI External Professor Wendy Carlin (University College London) has received the inaugural RES Medal for Services to the Economics Profession from the Royal Economic Society.

"The medal is a new annual award to recognise an individual who has made an outstanding and lasting contribution to the economics profession in one or more of three dimensions: promoting economics; supporting economists; improving diversity," writes the Royal Economic Society in their announcement

Carlin has been a longtime collaborator of SFI Professor Sam Bowles and is a co-leader of the CORE project. She joined the SFI External Faculty in 2019.

“I’m delighted to have been awarded the inaugural RES Medal for Services to the Economics Profession," Carlin said in a press release by UCL. "This is tremendous recognition for CORE Econ – which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary – and will provide more impetus to its work for a more just, sustainable, and democratic world in which citizens are empowered to address the most pressing societal problems.”
