SFI External Professor Melanie Moses has been awarded the James S. McDonnell Foundation's 21st Century Science Initiative in Studying Complex Systems – Scholar Award for 2014.

She was selected for the award for “furthering the science of complex systems via the continued development of the theory and tools used in the study of complex research.”

The award comes with a six year, $450,000 grant, with which Moses says she plans to continue her research of how cooperative behavior emerges in complex systems.
