Helen "Satch" Dunham Cowan -- a philanthropist, retired Los Alamos National Lab physical chemist, and wife of SFI Founding President and Lifetime Trustee George Cowan -- died Friday, August 19, as a result of a massive stroke. She was 91.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held Sunday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m., at Fuller Lodge in Los Alamos. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a memorial fund to establish a Satch Cowan Trail in the Los Alamos area. Los Alamos National Bank will handle the fund.
