InterPlanetary: Voyager to launch in October 2022

SFI's InterPlanetary Festival transmits from SITE Santa Fe on October 22 & 23.
September 14, 2022

SFI's InterPlanetary Festival is transmitting live once again, this year on October 22 and 23, 2022, from SITE Santa Fe.

This more intimate setting means limited seating*, but the content will be streamed so that anyone on earth (and beyond!) can tune in and engage with our cosmic content. SFI researchers and InterPlanetary intellectuals will explore deep questions in complexity science alongside classic science-fiction film screenings, book signings, musical performances, lectures, bespoke beverages, and a late-night Dark Matter Dance Party.

Here’s a sneak peek of the panels, films, and speakers already on the docket:

Panels: When Will We Need a Theory of Intelligence? • Will Space Limit Human Performance? •  Complex Conceptions of Time • Life and its Objects • The Complex Space of Political Economies

Films:  Ikarie-XB 1 • Colossus: The Forbin Project

Speakers:  David Krakauer • Melanie Mitchell • Jessica Flack • Chris Kempes • Travis Holmes • Ashton Eaton • Nina Lanza • Carolyn Porco • Sara Walker • Caleb Scharf • Brandon Ogbunu • Dario Robleto • James Gleick • John Krakauer • Jorge Almazan • Kyle Harper • Ian Tregellis • Orit Peleg • Peter Swirski • Ruvimbo Samanga • Ted Chiang • Tristan Duke • Brendan Tracey

Visit interplanetaryfest.org for all the details.

*Seating is limited to 350, available on a first-come, first-served basis, but all content can be streamed via interplanetaryfest.org, and outdoor activities are open to all
