SFI’s External Professor C. Brandon Ogbunu has been recognized by Yale University, his home institution, with the Arthur Greer Memorial Prize for Outstanding Scholarly Publication or Research. The award celebrates faculty members in the social or natural sciences for exceptional scholarly work.

Ogbunu employs advanced computational methods to explore the complexity of biological systems and evolutionary genetics. His recent work includes papers in eLife and the Bulletin of Mathematical Biology on the applicability of computational models to understand the evolution and virulence of viral pathogens, which offer groundbreaking implications for the design of effective medical intervention. He will present, “What is Lyfe: Towards a Biology of Context & Complexity” as part of SFI’s Community Lecture Series on July 16, 2024, at the Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe.
