Our campus is closed to the public for this event.

Meeting Summary: This meeting will develop an authoritative document on what is involved in running a successful inter- or transdisciplinary organization to tackle complex sustainability issues. It builds on a successful meeting of 20 leaders of inter- and transdisciplinary organizations from eight countries run in March 2018 at the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) and reported in Nature Sustainability (https://rdcu.be/234H).

More and more inter- and transdisciplinary organizations are being established globally that would benefit from the lessons learned. Research funders want to support interdisciplinary research and would welcome advice on what organizational settings are most conducive to successful outcomes. Research policy makers, too, want to know how they can best support interdisciplinary research.
