The popular Science On Screen series continues Tuesday, January 21, in Santa Fe with SFI External Professor Ole Peters presenting The Road, directed by John Hillcoat and adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Cormac McCarthy.

Viggo Mortenson, Charlize Theron and Kodi Smit-McPhee play members of a family in a world where survival can be the only goal. Ole Peters will open the film through a discussion of issues of time, possibility, and alternate realities.

The show begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Center for Contemporary Arts (CCA), 1050 Old Pecos Trail, in Santa Fe. Advance tickets are recommended. For tickets and prices, call the CCA Box Office at 505-982-1338.

Science On Screen is a collaboration of SFI and the CCA. During each showing, an Institute scientist presents a favorite film, offering personal perspectives and insights from the world of science. It's an idea-rich spin on the movies.

SFI and CCA presented five Science on Screen events in 2013. (Watch the 4-minute trailer for "Groundhog Day with Murray Gell-Mann," screened May 17, 2012, at the CCA.)
