Speaker:
Cristopher Moore

A band of outlaws out on the raggedy edge of space. A brilliant psychic escaping from the government. An experiment in social engineering gone horribly wrong. Join Captain Malcolm Reynolds, River and Simon Tam, Jayne, Wash, Zoe, and Inara of the beloved series Firefly — along with SFI scientist Christopher Moore — as they try to right wrongs and be left alone. We aim to misbehave.

The popular Science On Screen series continued July 1 with returning speaker Christopher Moore's presentation of Joss Whedon's 2005 space Western Serenity. Professor Moore will introduce the Nebula- and Prometheus Award-winning film with a brief talk and help place it in scientific context. Moore presented Primer at Science on Screen in 2013.

Science On Screen is a collaboration of SFI and the CCA. During each showing, an Institute scientist presents a favorite film, offering personal perspectives and insights from the world of science. It's an idea-rich spin on the movies.
