Abstract.  Despite being usually associated to disorder, Entropy can be used to assemble building blocks into a variety of complex structures in a surprisingly predictive way. In this talk I will investigate the role of entropy in systems of Brownian agents interacting with each other solely through their shape. I will show how the concept of Directional Entropic Forces is crucial for the patterns emergent from jamming, packing, assembly and even folding processes. Finally, a perhaps surprising relation between entropic forces and traditional forces used in self-organization will be given.
