Modelling Social and Economic Inequality Across Cultures and Over Time

The ENDOW project (Economic Networks and the Dynamics of Wealth Inequality) is a longitudinal, cross-cultural study investigating the relationship between social networks and material wealth inequality across approximately 50 communities in more than 30 countries around the world. With the first wave of data collection complete and a second wave underway, the project is now focused on advancing a programme of comparative publications and preparing the longitudinal analyses that have been its central scientific aim.

This Micro Working Group will follow immediately on the footsteps of a larger team Working Group, attended by many of the researchers gathering data for the ENDOW project. By convening the core team spearheading analyses and publications together for an intensive in-person session, the meeting aims to translate the momentum and ideation of the larger Working Group into clear decisions, timelines, and a shared analytical roadmap for the next phase of the project. The meeting will focus on two complementary tasks: advancing cross-sectional papers drawing on the first wave of data toward submission, and developing concrete analytical plans for the project's first longitudinal papers examining how network position and structure predict changes in household wealth and its distribution over time.
