Virtual
Seminar
  US Mountain Time
Speaker:
Henry Wright (University of Michigan)

Abstract: The past 10 years have seen extraordinary changs in our understanding of the complex natural system on which we have the most direct impact and on which we depend for our continued existence, namely our planet. This seminar will quickly sketch the current evidence for the last half million years or so of our planet's changing ecosystems and human action in these ecosystems for the benefit of those who are thinking about explaining system change in general. We will talk about human biology, technology, and ways of communicating and storing information during this long period. There should be plenty of time for free-ranging discussion of the issues that arise.
