CREDITS Research Development Community of Practice

Noyce Conference Room
Working Group
8:30 am – 5:00 pm  US Mountain Time
March 21, 2022 – March 22, 2022

This event is closed to the public.

Meeting Summary: The Center for Research, Excellence, and Diversity in Team Science (CREDITS) at UC Santa Barbara hosts retreats and institutes to promote team science competencies and leadership capacity of faculty, researchers, post-doctoral scholars, and research administrators. The 2022 CREDITS Community of Practice for RD Professionals, to be held March 21-22, 2022, at the Santa Fe Institute, is a by-invitation working group drawn from a diverse group of U.S. based research and academic institutions. The working group members will work collaboratively to build on the prior work of CREDITS to design new materials, tools, and training workshops/modules to help research development professionals develop and support diverse and inclusive science teams at their institutions. Community of Practice working group members will be research development professionals who have familiar knowledge of team science theories and practices; experience facilitating science teams; experience or an established interest in aligning research development practices with justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) principles and activities; and a collegial approach to collaborative work. Members of the CREDITS PI Team and External Advisors will also participate in the working group. Two virtual meetings of the Community of Practice working group will be scheduled in July and August; participants will meet in person on March 21-22, 2022, at the Santa Fe Institute.
