Meeting Summary:  Complex Time: Adaptation, Aging, Arrow of Time is a five year research theme at SFI funded by the James S. McDonnell Foundation. We use Complex Time to describe processes in complex systems (biological, social, and technological) that operate concurrently at multiple different scales, run at multiple rates, and emerge from integration across the state of numerous connected systems. In this Complex Time General and Core Theory 2020 meeting we will be (1) integrating across the different topical application areas that have been meeting separately (brain, infectious diseases, ecology, biological failure, sleep, cellular aging), (2) exploring the core models and theories required to create a theory of Complex Time, (3) seeking input from related fields not currently in the Complex Time portfolio.

This event is supported by the James S. McDonnell Foundation Grant Number 220020491, Adaptation, Aging, and the Arrow of Time.
