AI and multi-scale human intelligence
AI is now a household tool, influencing everything from how students do their homework to how governments make decisions. In this workshop, we focus on the ways in which AI is beginning to influence human intelligence on multiple levels. What are the impacts on human cognition, social cognition, organizations, institutions, markets, and governments? We bring together experts from AI industry, academia, regulatory agencies and civil society in order to explore these emergent phenomena. Our aim is to think ahead about how we can measure, understand, and best steward these impacts. Better understanding of how AI is impacting humans on these multiple levels of scale should help us to advance a paradigm shift beyond the “benchmarking orthodoxy” to more meaningfully measure - and more fully imagine - the impact of AI.
