Agent-based Modeling of Archaeological Transitions on the Colorado Plateau: New Initiatives regarding the Long House Valley, Arizona

The original Artificial Anasazi Project has recently been reinvigorated as the Artificial Long House Valley Project, and new collaborators, Dr. Lisa Sattenspiel, a mathematical modeler (Anthropology, U. Missouri) and PhD candidate Amy Warren (U. Missouri), have joined the project.  Recent investigations into the original models have led to important new findings, and to sensitivity analyses on several of the parameters in the original models, in turn, resulting in papers presented at professional meetings and forthcoming publications.  This working group will afford the opportunity for the major investigators to regroup and formulate the next steps and priorities for the Project, to share the current work with interested SFI scholars in residence at the time of our visit and to invite feedback on new directions.
