Nelson's PGP keys

PGP is "Pretty Good Privacy", a very strong public key cryptosystem that allows you to freely exchange private documents, sign messages, and do lots of other useful cryptostuff. It may seem a bit silly to be using such powerful encryption technology, but it's convenient enough there's little reason not to use it.

I have two public keys: a 768 bit "online" key and a 1024 bit "offline" key. My online secret key is stored on a Unix box on the Internet: I feel it's secure enough for all of my secrets, but it's definitely not ideal. The offline key spends most of its time on an unmounted floppy and is used on a more secure host: as such, it's more secure but significantly less convenient. Please use my online key for normal correspondence: if you ever feel the need to be more secure, first encrypt your message to me with my offline key, then with the online key.

NOTE: if you specify a key such as "nelson" to encrypt a message to, PGP will take the most recentky added key that matches the string "nelson". So if you choose to add both my keys to your keyring, first add the 1024 bit offline key, then the 768 bit online key. That way, the default key will be the online one. If you save this page as text and run pgp on it, it will do the right thing.
