Nelson's Mud References
This is a little list of Mud references I've found useful. The
Yahoo index
is pretty great if you want a full list: I've just selected a few
links that are of particular interest to me. For what it's worth, I'm
interested in MUDs as multiagent programming universes and as social
environments.
- MOO document library
- Lots of links having to do with MOOs. MOO seems to be the most
sophisticated MUD out there: well thought out programming
language, lots of people thinking about the MOO social
environments. Many of the links here are interesting, a whole
lot to read (including many papers).
- LambdaMOO programming reference
- Reference on programming in LambdaMOO. Lots of good details.
- MOOGate
- List of active MOOs.
- LambdaMOO archive
- Archive of LambdaMOO information: good records of the social
and political reality of LambdaMOO.
- MUSH listing
- MUSH is another flavour of MOO, pretty kludgy from the programming
point of view but lots of history. This is a good list of
MUSHes.
- Mud
resources listing
- Sort of like the MOO document library, but for other MUD
flavours, emphasis on MUSH.
- Lauren
Burka's collection of MUD history
- More sociological documents from MUDs. This has useful links
to learn about Julia.
