Abstract:
Floyd is a software agent that lives in the virtual environment of
ccr. He is designed to work in cooperation with other Floyds living on
other worlds: the entire distributed network of agents is a
communication layer upon which queries can be broadcast and replies
collected. Floyd's major functions are finding out about the existence
of other Floyds, discovering which Floyds are currently running, and
discovering where particular people have been seen. The code for Floyd
is written in Perl and is based on a set of reusable libraries for
writing ccr XProcs. Floyd's distribution home is
http://www.santafe.edu/~nelson/cs591-2archive/floyd/;
full install instructions and source code can be found there.
