Gifts supporting the Omidyar Fellowship are matched dollar for dollar by Pierre and Pam Omidyar, through the Santa Fe Institute's Omidyar Challenge Campaign.
We don’t know who tomorrow’s scientific leaders are going to be, but we do know that they are among us now in our schools and universities. Through the SFI Omidyar Fellowship, we are identifying the most promising postdoctoral scholars working on important problems and providing them with the skills, opportunities, and resources to become tomorrow’s Albert Einsteins, tomorrow’s Margaret Meads, tomorrow’s Murray Gell-Manns.
The SFI Omidyar Fellowship already sets the standard for postdoctoral programs that generate creative, interdisciplinary scientific insights. Pierre and Pam Omidyar have challenged the Santa Fe Institute to make an even greater difference in helping transform today’s promising young scholars into tomorrow’s scientific leaders.
This year, we are inaugurating an enhanced Fellowship. The expanded program increases the number of Fellows, adds more leadership training and professional development for the Fellows, and increases support for mentoring and scientific collaborations. We are thrilled to share the news of this expansion, but perhaps the most exciting change is that now all gifts in support of the current operation of the Fellowship program will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Pam and Pierre Omidyar. By contributing to the Omidyar Challenge, you double your giving power.
Our goal is to raise at least $375,000 in 2013! Click on thebutton to double the amount we receive through your generosity. Or, if you give appreciated assets, such as stocks, you can potentially enjoy greater tax savings in 2013 than in years past. - your gift is matched!
Due to the overwhelming generosity of the SFI community, SFI raised half a million dollars in 2009, matched by Pierre and Pam Omidyar, enabling SFI to establish a permanent endowment in support of the Omidyar Fellowship.
