Abstract: This paper explicitly recognizes the importance of local structure on the global properties of an economic system. It models situations in which agents have strong connections to nearby agents, but weak connections with distant ones. We analyze these situations by focusing on the game theoretic interactions of agents existing on a lattice. We derive conditions under which Nash equilibria of different types can exist, and find the structure of these equilibria.
