Before founding AIP, he chaired Bucyrus International, Great Lakes Carbon, NL Industries, and served as President of Armco Steel Corporation's National Supply Company, following service in the US Navy.

Mr. Rogers’ polymathic pursuits outside of work range from marathoning to supporting the sciences, arts, and education. In addition to serving on SFI’s Board of Trustees, he holds similar leadership positions with the New York City Ballet, Theatre for a New Audience, St. John’s College, the Yale Center for Biospheric Studies, The Film Forum of New York, the New York Society Library, the Achilles Track Club, and the Grolier Club of New York.

Mr. Rogers holds a Bachelor of Science from Miami University, an MBA from Marquette University, and an MA from St. John’s College.

Dr. Stark serves on the boards of the Santa Fe Opera, Los Alamos National Bank, and the International Dominican Foundation and was an early supporter of Open Courseware at MIT, where he received BS, MS, and SciD degrees in Electrical Science and Engineering.

He has attended a number of SFI events, including the 2014 November Symposium, and participated in SFI's 2015 Short Course.

The Santa Fe Institute’s Board of Trustees, which has fiduciary responsibility for the Institute, oversees SFI’s operations through its biannual meetings and its active committees that offer advice and support to SFI’s leadership.
