SFI External Professor Ricard Sole and co-authors apply network theory to the analysis of over 4700 unique drug-target interactions from seven databases, revealing an unexpectedly complex picture. The results confirm that the topology of drug-target networks depends implicitly on data completeness, drug properties, and target families. For the implication for drug discovery, see “The Topology of Drug-Target Interaction Networks: Implicit Dependence on Drug Properties and Target Families” by J. Mestres, E. Gregori-Puigjane, S.
