Fidelity Investments is one of the largest mutual fund groups in the world. It consists of two independent but closely cooperating companies, Fidelity Management and Research LLC (FMR LLC), founded in 1946 and serving North America,Fidelity International Limited (FIL), spun off in 1969 and serving the rest of the world, as well as Fidelity Ventures, the venture capital arm of the group.  Fidelity Investments manages a large family of mutual funds, provides fund distribution and investment advice services, as well as providing discount brokerage services, retirement services, wealth management, securities execution and clearance, life insurance and a number of other services.
