Facilitators and Instructors (for the Summer Workshops)
Our primary facilitators for the summer sessions are previous facilitators with the Adventures in Modeling program Other newer facilitators were teacher participants in AIM who have stepped up to a new challenge. We are a diverse, closely-knit group of lifelong learners.
Teachers and Club Leaders (during the School Year)
For the first year of the program we have recruited teachers who have previous experience with Adventures in Modeling and/or the Supercomputing Challenge to be our afterschool Project GUTS Club Leaders. These individuals are local math and science teachers from public and private schools who have, over the course of several years of professional development, become expert at providing guidance in the use of computer models and simulations, participatory simulations, mathematics for modeling, and concepts of complex systems. They have experienced and enthusiastically support our pedagogy that emphasizes inquiry and project-based learning.
