


Francisco Gutiérrez is a Colombian anthropologist, with PhD in political science. He participated as speaker and convenor in the workshop Patterns of Political Violence held in January 2004, at the Santa Fe Institute, and as speaker in the preivous gathering on Patterns of Violence held in Bogota in May 2003. In the last four years he has researched in the context of the Crisis States Programme (DESTIN-LSE) on civil war in a comparative perspective. His main interests are political economy of war, democratization, and political parties.
