She received a 'Laurea with honour' in Architecture from the Polytechnic of Turin in 1978. Since 1987 she is a Senior Researcher with the Socio-Economic Research Institute of Piedmont (IRES). Her research interests are in various fields of regional analysis, i.e. housing, transportation and mobility, urban modelling and spatial analysis. The emphasis of her curent work is on modelling activity. She is a member of the Direction Board of the Italian Regional Science Association and of the Scientific Board of INPUT. She is also a member the French Association of Cognitive Research (ARCo).
