I am originally from Stratford-upon-Avon, England, (To be, or not to be....etc,etc). After graduating from Bristol University I went to Tokyo, Japan where I obtained my Ph.D. in complex systems Physics (modeling financial market dynamics) in 1999. Since then I have had a brief spell at Deutsche Bank in Tokyo and also spent a year as a Marie Curie Host Fellow at Trinity College, Dublin and Hibernian Investment Management, Dublin, Ireland (applying econophysics to real fund management) before returning to Japan to take up my present position as a postdoc fellow in Professor K.Kaneko's lab at Tokyo University where I am working on modeling economic production processes from the viewpoint of dynamical systems theory.
