Wojciech Borkowski

3395WBorkowski_2 picture By education and main interest I am a biologist. My master thesis was by molecular genetics, but then I was working long time on botany, so my doctoral dissertation concerned a possible taxonomic revision of blackthorn (Prunus spinosa L.) - one of most popular shrub in Europe. For a long time I am interested in theory of evolution, complex systems and related subjects, especially in computer simulations in biology, social science and linguistic. I have long and intensive experience in programming, not only on simulations. Other applications of computers in biology and other science are also in scope of my interest, particularly a numerical taxonomy, automatic acquisition of biometric data (I wrote my own program for measuring scanned leaf silhouettes) and even natural language acquisition by computer.
