My interests centre around the application of a complex systems approach to evolutionary ecology and speciation. At present I'm developing an individual-based model of speciation processes, focussing on the ways in which mate choice decisions and disruptive selection can influence speciation. I'm also interested in artificial life in general, and the evolution of ecological complexity in artificial systems. I'm doing my PhD in the Department of Biological Sciences at Monash University, Australia, and spend much of my spare time programming for nosubstancesoftware.com, a retro games company my partner and I have founded. We've just released our first game - very exciting!
