I have received a B. A. in Condensed Matter Physics and a M. Sc. in Theoretical Physics from the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj, Romania. Then I attended the graduate school of the University of Notre Dame, and I have received my Ph. D. in Physics in May 2001. My thesis advisor was Prof. Albert-Laszlo Barabasi and the title of my dissertation is "Statistical mechanics of complex networks". Now I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the University of Minnesota, and my mentor is Prof. Hans Othmer. My main research interest is the study of complex networks. My thesis research focused on uncovering the universal properties of the topology of real-world complex networks, and modeling the causes of their special features. Currently I am studying the interplay between the topology and function of biological networks.
