Currently at the Uppsala University, Sweden, as a PhD student with topic:

"Stochastic Resonance and Signal Transfer in Systems of Coupled Neurons"

We are studying nonlinear, stochastic models of signal transfer in neural systems. Main focus is hereby the investigation of the phenomena of Stochastic Resonance, which occurs if noise and a signal are applied to a threshold system, e.g. neurons. The tools we are using are analytical and numerical calculations as well as computer simulations. Special attention is paid to the statistical properties of the noise and signal, such as power spectra and bandwidth limitations.
