I became my title of "mathematical engineer" (which can be translated as "applied mathematician") in 1998, after 6 years of study, a sabbatical year in Germany, and a final work about genetic algorithms and protein backtranslation. Since 1999 I'm in the Ph.D. programm of Mathematical Modeling at the Universidad de Chile, under the guidance of Dr. Eric Goles, with ants, cellular automata and simple agents as the central subjects. My interests are in discrete math, biology (genomics, evolution, autopoiesis and a long etc), sociology, and complex systems in general.
