Over the last four years I have worked as a spatial analyst in regional land use planning and policy design. The project is a large scale study of the development and adaptation of an agricultural production system. Core to this work has been the encorporation of knowledge of complex adaptive systems and resilience and the integration of physical, social and economic influences. These factors are being assessed within multiple spatial and temporal scales using nested hierarchies of infuences. The project team has been collaborating in case studies for the Resilience Network of the Beijer International Institute of Ecological Economics.
