Konstantin Kravchenko

k_kravchenko picture I am a postgraduate student from Siberia. I am currently doing my dissertation research in the field of population ecology in the laboratory of ecological genetics at Irkutsk State University. I study the problem of population number fluctuations on example of Drosophila melanogaster experimental populations. Using statistical methods of time series analysis I try to find out the major causes of observing quite regular number fluctuations. It was surprising to find out reliable correlations and similar frequencies in the processes of population number dynamics and in Solar activity. And I gradually become more and more interesting in the subject of Solar-Terrestrial relations on more general level. It looks like the Sun has its own pulse and plays the similar role in our Solar System as heart do in a living organism.
