I am interested in the relationship between mean abundance and variation in abundance of biological populations. Ideally, I would like to provide a description of individual dynamics that generates the macroscale patterns we observe in the abundance of biological populations. I plan to include nutrient and energy acquisition as key factors that regulate population dynamics in space and time.
