Vice President, Advancement
Nancy Deutsch joined SFI in September 2009. She brings a successful track record in corporate, foundation and major gifts fundraising to SFI. Although she began her fundraising career at WETA in Washington, DC in the late 1970’s, the bulk of her success has been in support of higher education at UCLA, Loyola Marymount University and UC Irvine. As Vice President for Development and Corporate Relations, Nancy is responsible for raising funds from individuals and family foundations in support of SFI’s three key priorities – annual giving, the Omidyar Challenge and the varied education and outreach programs conducted each year. Further, she oversees the Business Network corporate affiliates program that draws the active engagement of corporations from around the world into the research programs undertaken by SFI.
With more than 60% of SFI revenue coming from private sources, Nancy and her fundraising team are ready to show how an investment in SFI can help foster the next generation of science leadership or further the study of complexity science that is expanding the boundaries of science.
