Maria has received her B.A. with cum laude in Political Science, Fortin and Gonthier Foundations of Western Civilization and French language from Assumption College, Worcester, Massachusetts in 2009. She holds a certificate of recognition for an outstanding work and study on Nationalism and National Identities from the University of Salzburg, Austria 2008. She is from Almaty, Kazakhstan and has currently completed her Master's degree with a thesis on Shakespeare's The Tempest: "Prospero's Art - An Entertainment with a Point" in Liberal Arts at St. John's College, Santa Fe, New Mexico 2012. She has previously worked for the Office of Modern and Classical Languages and Cultures of Assumption College. Maria has worked for Santa Fe AVID/ENLACE Program as a Physics and Chemistry tutor at Santa Fe High School. Maria is fluent in Russian Language and has a basic knowledge of French, German and Kazakh. She joined the Santa Fe Institute staff in 2013.
