Joe joined the Institute as the project manager for the Informal Settlements Project led by Luis Bettencourt. He has experience managing data visualization projects across many disciplines giving him a strong strategic and technical management background. He received a BA from Reed College where he studied mathematics and economics. He has always been fascinated with cities and recognizes the importance of understanding the development of cities for the future. He hopes to continue similar research after the project is complete.
