Study at Department of Coal Mining, Kharkov Institute for Egnineering Economics, Kharkov, Ukraine, 1954-1956.
Graduated from Department of Mathematics and Physics, Kharkov State University, Kharkov, Ukraine, in 1959.
Graduate study at Moscow State University and The Institute of Physical Problems, Russian Academy of Sciences (1961-1963)
Research Assistant (1959-1963), Research Associate (1963-1978), and Research Professor (1978) at the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica.
Research Professor at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Academia Sinica, since its establishment in 1978.
Professor at the T-Life Research Center, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, since 2001.
Senior International Fellow (2002-2003), External Faculty (2005-2008), The Santa Fe Institute, New Mexico, USA.
Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, elected November 1980.
Member of the Academy of Science for the Developing World (TWAS), elected 1995.
