Welcome

ICAD is a forum for presenting research on the use of sound to display data, monitor systems, and provide enhanced user interfaces for computers and virtual reality systems. It is unique in its singular focus on auditory displays and the array of perception, technology, and application areas that this encompasses.

Awards

As of 2008 the ICAD board awards outstanding contributions to the annual conferences. At ICAD 2008 in Paris the winners were:

  1. Best Use of Sound in a Presentation: Michal Rinott
  2. Best Poster: Milena Droumeva
  3. Best Paper: Doug Brungart

Each of the winners was awarded a cash prize of €200.

Many congratulations!

Photos & other media for ICAD

Due to public demand, I have thought about a way ICADers can share photos and other media amongst each other and with others. As this is not necessarilly a trivial thing to implement on our own web-page, I decided to create an ICAD flickr group, which should do everything, and more, we need.

You can upload your photos for free with flickr and simply join this group and add all photos to its pool. Its also suitable for screencasts or short videos.
